Many of you know that I am a big advocate of natural light photography and prefer it over any other. The Maine Professional Photographer's Association held a workshop with Steve Bedell, an amazing natural light photographer, a few weeks ago. I went and it was really nice to meet more local photographers. Here are a few of the photos from the workshop.
I love this next image...she just glows.
I prefer the color image, but thought the black and white was still stunning...
Everyone loves a little graffiti...
The interesting thing about these two photos (above and below) is that we were in an entrance to an alley, but we were using light reflected off of a building that was mostly aluminum-like materials. I love how it replaces the direct light, but is still bright and soft.

Both girls were such good models. When you're at a workshop you don't always get a chance to take the shots at the angles you would like, but the girls were great about looking around and keeping a good sense of humor throughout the afternoon.
Much Love,
Shannon
